Geologic Mapping

Mr. Schmidl is a licensed Professional Geologist in the State of New Hampshire. He has the requisite skills and experience to perform geologic mapping in accordance with the US Geological Survey's Geologic Map Schema (GeMS) TM 11-B10.

Septic System Design

Blackwater Environmental Design has been providing septic system design services in accorance with Env-Wq 1000 for more than 2 decades. We "read the lines of Nature's palm" to find the most promising locations for septic systems, whether for new construction or system replacement. 

Wetlands Delineation & Permiting

Mr. Schmidl has been a Certified Wetland Scientist for more than a decade. In addition to his experience in the private sector, his 3 years service as a NHDES Permit Inspector, reviewing hundreds of wetlands permit applications, ensures that your permit will meet all the requirements of Env-Wt 100-900. His experience as a NHDES Instream Flow Specialist gives him additional expertise in stream crossing design.

Fluvial Hydrology

Mr. Schmidl has been a Instream Flow Specialist for more than six years. He developed a new methodology to collect near real-time stream flow data on rivers where USGS gages are not available, including station instalation and maintenance and development of stage-discharge rating curves that permit estimation of river flow based on river stage.
